NMC tire bales are light in volume weight and even when internal voids and spaces
between blocks and filled with aggregate to improve stiffness and stability they are still
considerably lighter than conventional fill used as road foundation. The NMC 10 and
20 whole tire bales are long lasting, non-polluting and require less compaction than
conventional fills. The 10/20 tire bales are less expensive than special lightweight
materials which could be used for other lightweight foundations ( e.g., 100 whole tire
bales ).
2- Lightweight Embankment Fill

NMC bales are constant regular in size, weight and shape. The NMC bale is less
expensive than rock-filled gabion. The bales are long-lasting and non-polluting. The
10/20 whole tire gabion-bale easily serves as a base for natural wild growth
vegetation.
4- Backfill to Retaining Walls
NMC 10/20 tire bales can replace, as a lighter wall construction material, wet,
heavier, low shear soil. The NMC bale reduces the overturning force on the back of
retaining walls. NMC bales are long-lasting, non-polluting and require less
compaction than conventional/ non-conventional expensive fills.
5- Drainage Layers and Storm Water Management
NMC 10/20 whole tire bales when positioned at the base of embankments help drain,
strengthen, and reduce erosions of soil above the bales as well as accelerate the exit
of excess water, which is a major contributor to many geotechnical embankment
failures. The NMC 10 and 20 whole tire bales are long lasting, non-polluting and
require less compaction than conventional fills. The 10/20 tire bales are less
expensive than special lightweight materials which could be used for lightweight
foundations.
6- Combined Geo-membrane Protection and Drainage Layer for Landfill Sites
NMC 10/20 whole tire bales, with their uniform size, weight, and non-abrasive
surfaces, when applied over the base geo-membrane can both protect the geo-
membrane from puncture as well as promote for a good drainage path for the landfill
generated leachate. The NMC bale also has applications as a methane(CH4) well
casing protection medium.
7- Walls/Flooring for Low-Cost Farm Buildings/ Barns ( with corrugated roofing)
NMC 10/20 whole tire bales are incapsulated in the NMC Future Cube blocks both
as wall insulation and least cost building materials but also are used as flooring
drainage and as a geothermal material underlayment.
8- Culverts for Farm/Pastureland Crossovers
NMC 10/20 whole Truck tire bales allow for temporary and permanent culvert
crossover while allowing for free drainage. The NMC 10 and 20 whole tire bales are
long lasting, non-polluting and require less compaction than conventional fills. The
10/20 tire bales are less expensive than metal or concrete culverts.
9- Under-floor Geo-thermal Insulation in New building/Parking Lot Construction.
NMC whole tire bales act as an energy heat-sink when placed vertically below the
frost line. The whole tire bales can also be configured horizontally as pipe insulation
for a geo-thermal heat pump system.
10- Slope Stabilization Applications
NMC 10 and 20 whole tire bales can be used to repair failed slopes or to strengthen
slopes considered at risk of failure. The NMC whole tire bales are long lasting, non-
polluting and require less compaction than conventional fills. The 10/20 tire bales
are less expensive than other special lightweight materials.
11- River/Stream Erosion Control
NMC whole tire bales coupled with pilling anchors are a low cost option for
protection of river/stream banks. The whole tire bales are long lasting, non-polluting

12- Marine/Estuary Erosion Control
NMC’s whole tire bales with accepted anchor fixing systems are a low cost option
for the protection of beaches and soft cliffs. The bales can be used in the
construction of groins as well as incapsulated in the NMC concrete future cube to
serve as breakwaters blocks and or pier construction/ protection and or artificial
reefs.
13- Crash Cushion for bridge piers or bridge abutments
NMC Bales make an excellent shock absorbent force protection unit for deflection of
impact energy.
14- Isolation Bearing Pads for Buildings and Bridges
NMC bales could serve as “Bushing” pads to offset geotectonic events
15- Noise Bund / Noise Fence
NMC Concrete Block with tire bale is an excellent low cost long lasting building unit
for a noise fence of heights up to 21 ft.
16- Concrete Encased Bales ( Future Cube)
NMC 10 and 20 tire bales are incapsulated into blended-concrete reinforced interlocking Future Cubes (36 x 36 x 18 and or 36 inch dimensions). The Future Cube blocks have the same strength of solid concrete blocks while saving substantially in cement and aggregate usage. The Future Cube in addition to its superior R-60 value, 4 hour fire rating,STC 80 sound rating and lighter density, is now inter-lockable to 21 ft high seven (7) Blocks.
